May 14th
Throught this project i discovered that garlic mutard is a very pesky plant and can take over acres and acres of land. My project was really easy but putting it together was harder. The project didnt really affect my family or life because we dont have garlic mustard in our backyard or anything. Living green doesn't really impact me because i already do things that are green like changed light bulbs and recycle.
PSA
The three blogs I liked the best would have been Halie's, Emma's, and Lauren's. They were all very informative public service announcements and they all knew what they were talking about. They all even seemed like they really liked their topic and wanted to do a good job on them. Some of the worse PSA's would have been Ben's and River's. They could have looked over them better and didn't seem that they studied a lot about the topics. They needed to be more informative and explain what they did to the audience.

Blog Reflection
What i discovered over doing this project was how bad invasive species are. Also I learned how they can take over lots of land and be pests to whoever s land they are on. They also affect the wildlife because if they make certain plants go away that other animals would eat then the animals will starve. My book didn't really relate to my topic because my book was about fishing trips and my topic was invasive species. My project was rather easy and the only thing that got in my way was me being lazy and not going outside. The project did not really change me or my family because there wasn't any garlic mustard in my back yard or around my house. I don't think about "living green" but i do turn off lights and get efficient light bulbs and recycling.

Video Blog
I think that the Jews have fear of being killed because they think that all of the Palestinian people want to kill them and they also think that all of that land should be just theirs. They also are mad because they don't want their land taken away from them. I think the Palestinian people think that all of the land should be theirs and that the Jews should leave. They also probably feel bad because the Jews think that they are all terrorists and want to blow people up. I think the kids think about the opposite side and how bad they are and that they are wrong and they are also doing bad things. Their childhood would be more stressful than mine because I don't always have to think about fighting and being worried I am going to get killed.

Riddles
1. Roosters dont lay eggs. 2. They were in an airplane cabin and the airplane crashed and it started the fire all around them. 3. Tom. 4. Take the grain over, then the chicken, then take the grain back, then take the fox over, then take the chicken back, then the grain over again, and then the chicken over. 5. Craig was a hurricane.

Going Green Video
Like the video said I could turn off unused appliances, ride my bike places instead of having my parents drive, and install energy efficient light bulbs which I already have installed. I think that it was a good video even though high school students made it and it was very good quality. I think that I could do something like this with the knowledge that Mr. Brester has taught us throughout all of his classes and if I had a little time to make it and get all the videos to make it.

Conservation
We conserve energy by turning off lights and electronics when they are not in use. We also use different light bulbs that last longer and are dim when you turn them on at first but then get brighter in time. Also we don't turn on the heat or the air until we really need it and try and hold off turning them on for as long as we can. Some of the benefits are that we save money by saving energy so that we can use that extra money for things that need it more.

Mulberry Street
One day i was sitting in my house when a sniper shot through my window; i had to get out of there so I took a AH-6J Little Bird to Verona, Italy. Then I was going to capture base B in my M1114 HMMWV when a T-90 suddenly came around the corner; but luckily I put some C4 on the front of my Humvee so I quickly jumped out and blew up the tank. I captured B then that same sniper started to shoot at me again and I couldn't do anything because I didn't have a sniper. I jumped into a F/A-18E Super Hornet and flew to Ghana, Africa. I went there to see if the sniper would follow and if I could pick up his trail but no luck in Ghana. I then traveled to Baghdad, Iraq in my M1 Abrams tank. I then ran into a group of Iraqi soldiers and had to battle my way through them if I ever wanted to see day again. Luckily some U.S. troops showed up and eliminated the remaining soldiers (I took out most of them). I then traveled to Tokyo, Japan in my M1-28 Havoc helicopter. While I was there (the sniper still on my trail) I went to a couple restaurants because I have to eat sometime and I was really hungry. I did not like the food so I left to my last destination where I would hopefully defeat the enemy sniper. I had traveled to Zverevo, Russia in my BTR-90 and this time I had come prepared with a sniper, the M98B to be exact. I had finally caught onto the trail of the sniper and lead him up in the mountains. I was on an opposite mountain and I had made him think I was going to be on the ground in the city but not this time. I had waited for about 5 hours until I found him; I had to sight in my scope and adjust to the wind and the same with gravity. It took about 5-10 minutes calculating the trajectory of the bullet and where it was going to go so that I could get a "one-shot kill". I scoped in and like any good sniper would do I shot the bullet in between my heartbeats. The next thing you know I see that I had hit him, "Tengo Down" I said to myself.

Conference reflection
So far i have a couple pieces of work to show and to tell about my strengths and weaknesses in school. One of my questions are i don't really know why were doing this because I think a lot of people in the academy would rather just have regular conferences. I need to accomplish a little more to get everything ready for Thursday but I probably wont have a very good conference because I don't really know what i'm going to say.

Romeo and Juliet video summary
I think putting the video together was better than taking a quiz but it still was kind of complicated. It was kind of hard to get everything in 2 minutes. It was fun and I liked it and I think that we should do more things like this instead of doing tests. Doing this rather than a test was better because it was more fun and I think I might have comprehended it better because I actually had to inter prate it into my own words.

Olympics
I think the Olympics represent all the nations coming together and to see which nation if better at different sports. To me the Olympics mean that I get to have fun watching them and I can see which nation is the best at the sports that I watch. If I had to compete in one event I guess I would choose boxing because I have a punching bag at home made for MMA training and I really enjoy punching it.

Movie Blog
If I were Xiaochun I would have played the violin the best that I can and practiced at it every day to become the best. Also I would have played for more people to get money to help my dad after he lost his hat. I think he made the right decisions because I would have wanted to stay with my dad too and I wouldn't want to stay there alone without any family. Some pros would have been that he got to stay with his dad and he never had to be alone. Some cons would be that he had to leave so he couldn't compete and see how he would do.

Why I like the Academy
I like the Academy because we get to to more hands on activities and fun things instead of sitting in a normal desk and listening to a teacher talk the whole time. We also have a different type of classroom where we can sit wherever we want and have our own private working space and a comfortable one too. I think it should continue into 10th grade because some of us might not do to well in a traditional classroom since we are so used to the Academy learning experience. None of us kids in the Academy have had the experience of a traditional classroom for science, geography, and English. That being said we might not do as good as in the Academy because it is so different. All of these reasons are reasons that the Academy should continue to the 10th grade and maybe even more than just the 10th grade.

Jan. 2nd - Jan. 6th
This week in the Academy we started our final project. In art we started painting with water colors. In English we started learning about grammar and using commas, colons, and semicolons. In Science we continued learning about the periodic table. In Geography we learned about conserving land and protecting it. This week was not the best week because it was after break but it was still fun.
